they work really well too. we use on hard drives for work & seen as large as laptop size.

if you have kids, when they act up... throw their cel phone into a faraday bag & no signal. lol

I had a viper 5906v alarm system installed and added a dsm550 4g/gps module, I also added a glass break sensor and a tilt sensor. the gps part does not disable the vehicle but it does allow you track the vehicle. It's mostly a deterrent even if they came along with some kind of oem remote extender which is usually how they do it, then it would still trigger the viper system and send me a text, email, and phone app alarm and trigger the two-way remote fob. then they would have to have time to also disable the viper system because it is installed after the factory system and has a starter kill. so they could still get around it if they really wanted to but it's going to be noisy and more trouble I have the alarm speaker connected and the vehicle horn and a high decibel piezo speaker inside the vehicle. I can set a "digital fence" so even if it was towed away the gps would trigger the alarm once it moves from wherever it was last parked. If the wife or anyone else is driving it I can see where they are and how fast they are moving from my phone or online from any web browser. Lojack would be better (theft wise) but it's not a traditional alarm system. I had a previous vehicle stolen with the keys in it I only had the 3g module and no gps when that happened so I couldn't track it, so ever since then I have a more upgraded system. I have learned from previous experience, like thieves will break a rear window and climb inside they never open a door so the factory alarm or even a standard aftermarket never goes off and they can do whatever they want inside, so I added the glass sensor (detects if the glass breaks), the tilt sensor prevents them from stealing the wheels if they jack it up the alarm triggers.

Damn you've got more security on your car than most American banks. I'm Going to look into everything you listed, definitely going to look into getting a tilt sensor since wheels get stolen around here very often. Thanks.

That system as noted will run you about $1k installed, the 4g/gps service runs about $129 a year, they give a little break on a 3yr contract I think it's closer to $250-275
it's not for everyone but i got tired of getting my vehicles broken into, stolen, they rip out the stereo and **** everything up and it ends up costing a bundle to get it fixed.

Small price to pay for the added assurance of not getting your vehicle broken into or stolen.

What about just adding a kill switch to disable the starter or fuel pump? Either would do. I don’t think they would stick around and try to figure it out

It all has to do with the amount of risk you are willing to take. A kill switch will hell keep your car where you parked it but it won’t address folks breaking in and shredding the inside by ripping stuff out of the dash or 3rd row seats. Nor will it sense the vehicle getting jacked up to swipe the wheels.

anymore a decent aftermarket radio is $1k, my deductible is $500, (if my insurance decides to cover the loss), if not I'm out the 1k, plus a window replacement, plus whatever repairs are needed to the dash or steering column/ignition if they decided to try and steal it first, plus whatever else they tear up or break or steal.
Had my deck stolen out of my nbs at least 4 times, 2 of those times they ****** up the shifter so you couldn't even start the truck, dealer charged me $500 to fix it each time plus the tow plus the cost of the deck & window replacement. No more of that happens
this is what it sounds like now, couple seconds later my phone starts blowing up text, email, app alert, fob vibrates and sounds a alarm, if the blue led's don't tell you that the vehicle is armed then you deserve whatever fate befalls you

I think I'm done driving anything that I like. Last 5 vehicles I've owned have either had attempted break ins or the current complete theft. Late model key less GM vehicles are extremely easy to steal. I'm going to buy something old with an actual key, a Subaru, Mitsubishi or some other undesirable vehicle to drive. Frustrating that you can't have anything nice or some a-hole will take it from you.

You might want to rethink that. There is a excellent chance you will be soaking a lot of money into that POS for repairs...All that just IMHO.

In my neck of the woods the Escalade is one of the most popular vehicles to end up at the chop shop here in Miami. Opa-Locka in Miami is notorious for chop shops.

You might want to consider a good used PPV Tahoe.

Hopefully things work out well for you.

As long as dumb a$$ liberal politicians and governments make it easier and easier for drug use you will have the idiot entitled people that say, "I don't have it, you got it, I want it and I don't care about laws, so you don't deserve to have it and I will steal it". Per capita, Eugene, Oregon, has the highest % of homeless, with San Fran and L.A. right behind, and our home invasion, car theft, vandalism, drug crimes.....etc. just sky rocket while anyone who goes downtown has to watch out for the needles, urine and feces on the sidewalks and gutters.
