Lately I've been throwing the codes p0420 and p0430 for bank 1 and bank 2 running below efficiency. I have cleared them a few times.
So first, I'm in California.
I have found online, some CARB cats like magnaflow. There are an enormous amount of other types like EPA compliant.
Is there a difference between EPA and CARB?
I'm able to get an EPA shipped to my in laws in AZ if putting it on is an option.
Are there markings on a cat to let a shop know that it's an EPA, universal, or CARB?
I'm not trying to buy something just to get turned down from a muffler shop cuz California laws are ridiculous.
Any input is appreciated.

carb cat's have numbers stamped on them to show they are approved if you put a epa cat on then it will have the wrong numbers and you will not be able to pass smog.
that being said a 2019 "might" be under warranty, check with the dealer first.
also a factory y pipe might be a better option as well, depends on prices

The emission systems should have a longer warranty so I'd check into that like @Doubeleive said.

How many miles are on the rig? If high miles possibly 02 sensors are getting lazy.

I'm calling dealership today. I've seen a factory y pipe online for $1800. That's kinda steep

You could possibly try something like cataclean.

Sorry I'm not familiar with California laws but are you allowed to buy a carb compliant cat and have a shop weld it in? I did that on my pontiac roughly 10 years ago with a magnaflow when the oem clogged up.

the catco's are typically around $650 each installed (depending on the muffler shop) so $1800 isn't that much more of a stretch for something that can just be bolted on.
the newer catco for the k2's might even be slightly more. I would call around any muffler local muffler shops and get prices.
the dealer will not install a aftermarket cat.

I'll look into a cleaner.
I think buying a compliant cat and having a ship install it is ok.

cataclean won't work, your better off unbolting it and throwing it in a giant bucket of vinegar, let it soak and wash it out, that might work maybe.....or it will ruin it
the little tiny holes get clogged up

Local shops are open on Monday. So I'll call and find out about their pricing.
I didn't specify, but I'm calling the dealership to check on warranty. I typically stay away from dealerships due to being overpriced.
