Somewhat productive day. Well, I guess it started last night. My son and I drained the coolant from the petcock, disconnected the heater core hoses and vacuumed out everything we could from the heater core, engine, etc. We still only managed to get about 2.5 gallons out. Because of that, we ended up flushing it 6 times total. Once with a flush, 5 times with distilled water. It took awhile, because we'd run it to 208+F for 10-20 min each flush, then let it cool off. After the last flush, the shop vac was full of clear water. No sludge out of any of the flushes, but it's nice to know it's clean, get the maintenance done, and show the kiddo how to do it himself. Not much to picture there. These are the heater core lines I disconnected, then vacuumed through both hoses and attached scrap hose to the engine side and vacuumed that, too:

After the final flush, adding coolant as it's running:

Before reinstalling the intake (after all the coolant spilling was done), my son took over and changed the tensioner and serpentine belt. He looked up the torque specs, set the torque wrench, everything. Yes, he released the tension on the torque wrench after he was done. Anyways, super proud. I did nothing except answer questions:

Also, these arrived. Here's a test fit for a functionality test which it seems to have passed. I had to order some 90* HDMI connectors, an HDMI splitter, a 100W PD charger, and a few passthroughs, but the hopes are to have one single USB-C cable charge and provide HDMI to a Switch, ROG Ally, Laptop, ETC. They have the features of tablets on their own, as well:

More to come on this, of course!

Well progress on everything, but no pics (yet). As far as the in car entertainment, these screens won't work. The aspect ratio is wrong, so everything is oval instead of being round. The resolution is 1920x1080, but realistically it should have been 1920x1280 or something like that. I ordered a different set that should be here today, here's hoping. I did disassemble the seats a bit and run the power\HDMI through them, along with a lot of work in the console itself. Mainly to test out the functionality of it all. It all works like it should, with the exception of the USB-C dock. It works fine for the ROG Ally, but not the Switch. I guess there is only one dock that works with the Ally\Legion\Steam Deck and the Switch. It should be delivered today, too.

I did order a different set of headrest screens that are actually bigger, but I think they'll have the right aspect ratio. The current screens are 13.5", new ones are 15.6". Once I confirm everything works as it should, I'll be "permanently" installing the 100W PD charger, screen's power, the dock, USB-C passthrough, all that fun stuff.

About another topic. End of last week, a clunk started showing up when I slowly rolled down a curb\ramp\etc. at an angle. My son and daughter both hung their heads out the window and said it came from the front, and it sounded like it came from the front inside the cab. Since the last thing we did was the front sway bar, we started looking at end links. With Moog front end links, there are quite a few different installation instructions out there, some with torque specs, some without. We tried all of them to no avail. Fed up, I jacked up the front driver side and showed my son how to check suspension stuff. I have a little bit (1\8" or so) of play in the wheel bearing, or at 9:6 and 3:9. So I ordered new hub assemblies. Last night I went for a drive and could not accept that it was a bearing. I've dealt with too many hub assemblies, I know what they sound like.

When I got home from that drive I popped the hood and rocked the Yukon back and forth. HARD. Previously when I did that, there was no noise...but I wasn't rocking it that hard. It took both my son and my wife rocking it back and forth to get it make the noise while I was under it. Turns out it was the damned rear sway bar end link. When we installed them, I Googled the torque spec and numerous results gave me 17 ft lbs. I checked the service manual and it's actually 48 ft Lb.s +40*. Quite the difference, and made the clunk go away. You know that Abraham Lincoln quote, "Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's true."? He was right.

Just to end this out, I ordered a magnetic drain bolt for the oil change my son will be doing (on his own) tonight or tomorrow...This is the fanciest damned oil plug I have ever seen. I halfway want to throw this thing on a CMM and measure it at work to see how accurate it was machined to.

I'll be getting pics of the actual (and hopefully final) install for the screens as they happen, just wanted to update the thread.

The new screens are the right size! While they are 2 inches bigger, they are signicantly wider, so they don't look all that much bigger. I didn't snag the best pics of the problem the old ones had, but you can see it here:

As with a lot of projects, this is not going as planned. Due to USB-C's design, a female to female USB-C adapter that works with power and data can't exist. Long story, I'll blame witchcraft. So that means I'll have a USB-C power port in place of the cigarette lighter, and an HDMI port under the HVAC controls. I used a stepper bit and a Dremel to finish things off. I opt'd for JB weld instead of mounting screws, this composite trim panel stuff chips and cracks very easily when drilling. I think it came out pretty good:

Only limited to 5 pictures per post, but all I'm waiting on now is the USB-C charger and a +12V to USB 2.0 power adapter for the HDMI splitter. After that, I hope to be done!

Sorry for the late update. 2019+ Silverado front brakes (2021+ Tahoe\Yukon) install was a success! Didn't snap any pictures of the install unfortunately, but I did one side and my son did the other. We changed out the calipers, rotors, pads, went to stainless steel lines, and bled them. We were able to pull it off with no wheel spacers, but it's close...really close. Let me tell you, these are the front brakes these trucks should have come with. They work GREAT. It's not super touchy, so I won't be picking teeth out of the steering wheel; it's just got a lot more stopping power. I'd very highly recommend this upgrade, especially because I'm ~$360 into it.

Also, I heard back about the Hotchkis sway bar set. I ordered them on 9\16, and they are supposed to ship 12\2 through 12\16. Yay. Sure would be nice if their website said something like that. That install is going to be cold. Going to have to make my son do most of that one. It's good for the kid to freeze his ass off, right?

Anyway, here's a few pictures of the brake setup installed.
It's a little close to the wheel...

Stainless brake lines!

They still look small...maybe a little bigger. By the time these wear out I'm hoping the PPV 21+ Tahoe will be more readily available so I can upgrade (again) to the 6 piston\16 inch rotors.

i tried to install these on my 2015 suburban, even uses spacer washers on the calipers, but still hit my wheels? could it be the rims? even shaved the calipers, maybe they need more? any suggestion's?

Depending on the offset of your wheels, you might need some small wheel spacers. I know normally people use them, I was just able to get away without using them.
