My 2020 Yukon XL Denali 3rd row 60% seat stopped fold up or down when the button was pushed. Looks like the plastic lever that the cable hooks into at the hinge broke at the circular hole that the cable end inserts into. Called the dealer and it is a know issue and the plastic piece is not sold separately. Have to order the entire $270 dollar seat base to fix the plastic piece.

1) why the he!! would this part be made of plastic… ok rhetorical.

2) Anyone ever fixed this before? Seems like it should pry out or be able to remove and replace it…

Thanks!!!

Solved - So it turns out that this is a known fail point for these auto folding GMC seats. The wire pull does not break, however the plastic pull lever breaks at the circle where the wire attaches.

BONUS: You cannot repair/replace the plastic pull lever. You get to replace the entire seat base. Yea!!! Here’s to spending $150-$200 for a $0.50 part! Who’s excited??

Oh, and since this fails so often, the seat bases are all on back order. Had to wait 2 months for mine to arrive.
