Anyone else seeing this too? The airflow in the forward facing vents is very strong especially at full speed. However if the dash and or floor airflow is turned on, the forward facing vents barely blow any air at all. I get that it’d likely slow down given the air redistribution but to be slowed to almost nothing? Seems like maybe an issue? Anyone else?

Can you clarify what you mean about "forward facing vents?" You mean the Defroster Vents on the Dash?

Yeah the filter on my scion would need to be taken out every month practically on the dot being full of sand when living in the desert or I’d have crap air flow at worst you did the first thing a shop will check

FWIW, I checked my airflow this morning with the HVAC controls set to Floor/Defost. I detected significant airflow at medium fan speed, and a lot of airflow at max fan speed. There is definitely more airflow when in defrost only mode, but I didn't think that the flow in Floor/Defrost was weak.
The air direction is controled by electronic actuators, so it is possible you have an issue.
I would start w/ the Filter
If it is clear, I would go to the dealer and show them.
If they have another vehicle (Silverado, Sierra, or Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon) on the lot or in for sevice, I would ask them to compare your airflow to the others in that mode.

Sorry, didn't know what else to call them and wasn't sure of the technical name. But these:
If I have those vents enabled along with either the upward windshield and/or feet enabled, the forward facing vents hardly blow any air out at all even at full speed fan.
Thanks for checking on your own vehicle. I may be confused, but I think there was some confusion with my wording in the original post. When I said "forward facing" vents, I meant these:
So when those are enabled along with either the defrost (not max defrost) or feet vents, the forward-facing vents slow to basically no air at all. I'd expect they'd be slower as airflow was diverted upwards and or downwards in addition to the forward-facing vents, but I wouldn't expect the forward facing to slow to almost nothing

I would expect the behavior you are seeing.
Effectively, if you have floor, dash vents, and defrost all enabled....you have every air outlet turned on, and the airflow will be distributed amongst all of the air outlets...and thus be much weaker than when you have only the dash vents turned on.

I agree with you assessment in that with two or three turned on, they'll be weaker overall, however, with them all turned on for example, the only one that really seems weak is the dash vents. The floor and defrost vents sound like air is really flowing while putting your hand in front of the dash vents you can feel only a trickle of air coming out. I'd expect them all to be fairly equal albeit slower than one individually by itself, not where one is so slow that it's virtually useless while the others are blasting air. But maybe I'm just over thinking this. I've got go in to the dealer for a recall and retrofit soon, so I'm going to ask them.
