Yesterday my temperature light came on for a few minutes yesterday and I looked under the hood and attempted to look for the min/max lines for the coolant container. I am not the tallest person, but I couldn't see a min/max lines on the container.

Can you anyone help?

Thanks community!

More important than Min/Max marks... Did you see any coolant in the reservoir? Uh, that's the most important thing. If you didn't then you got problems. If you did, there could be other things going on that may need a dealer to sort out....

I see coolant in the reservoir. Just want to make sure it has the correct amount. I can't see the lines on the reservoir like my other vehicles.

It's the seam where the two halves of the surge tank join together. There is an arrow pointing to it, but as long as you have it around that seam, it's fine.

It is right by the seam. Thanks and it hasn't come on since the one time.

Found an older thread on this - same issue, coolant light comes on but nothing seems to be wrong. Likely a software glitch.

We bought a brand new 98 Olds Ultra Supercharged V6 and thru all 22yrs we owned it, the 'Check Coolant Level' would come on at odd times and then go off and there was never anything actually wrong. At various times we requested dealer 'fix' but were told that to even approach a fix would require taking the engine out/apart and cost big $ so we just lived with it.

It never got better or worse, would happen maybe twice a year at random times but fluid level was always OK and it never overheated so eventually we just stopped worrying about it.

I'm not saying you should ignore it, but trying to offer some solace in case you never find anything wrong :)
