I came across this thread. I have a 2022 Silverado ZR2 that just experienced the exact same issue today. It was delivered to the dealership mid-October.
I’ve not heard whether this issue affects the Silverados or not. Suggest searching the MFGR communications on the NHTSA website; or ask your dealer. You will be getting new BCM software anyway; as the DRL recall does apply to the Silverado.

My 2022 refresh did this right before Christmas.. I used the fob and got in it and hit the button and the truck shut off, lights were on and heater was running but dash lights were dim,it wouldn’t start and kept saying start again well it wouldn’t let me manually turn anything off so I jumped in my wife’s Subaru and drove to the airport and returned 2.5 hours later with the lights still on and heater running.. so I tried to start it then and it said low battery so I disconnected the battery and tried it a minute later and it started up with no issues, chevys going to look at it on Jan 5th and my truck was built at the beginning of July so..

Keep me updated on yours!!! Mine got towed on Wednesday. Same thing. Got in to try to start it, every light inside came on, heater was running, it was throwing all sorts of errors on the screen and telling me to hit the button again to start. Radio worked and everything, but it would not let me shut anything off and would not actually turn over the engine or start it! I could not disconnect the battery because I did not have the tools. I could not shift it to neutral manually or by pushing neutral, so I had to call a flatbed to come tow it to the dealer. It's a 2021 Tahoe Z71 4x4. I do not know if my vehicle received an update or not one was trying to download for about a week but kept saying it failed to download so who knows. The dealership has NO CLUE what is going on with it. I have tried to tell them stuff on this thread to check but they keep doing their own thing. They have hardly even looked at it. I am so beyond frustrated.

Just go buy a wrench, disconnect your battery, reconnect it and be on your marry way. Then go find a different dealer.

so.... a potential home fix then should be to disconnect & reconnect the battery ground cable, that would essentially "clear" the computer for the most part.
maybe the next time this happens or pops up on the thread someone can give it a try.
keep that in your suggestion box for now until we discover otherwise.
Edit***reportedly doing this has worked for 1 person so far
Add me to the list of people who owe you a 6 pack. ‘23 SLT with 4000 miles. Actually found this thread from googling! So good SEO for our site admins.

I’ve added a 10mm socket to my recovery gear bag.

I ran into this today for the first time, after probably 100's of remote starts. 2022 suburban. Started it after getting out of the shower, came down, got in as normal. stepped on break and pressed button, engine shut off. Same symptoms as everyone else. i didn't have a wrench handy, but pulled 1 of the 60 amp fuses under the hood - after that, it started up fine. check engine light is on now, but diagnostics show no issue. I'll see if that clears.

I had all same symptoms, but after charging it for 30 mins and not touching for an hour after that I luckily got it to start (should have tried to disconnect the battery but didn't). I drove it to my dealer and they replaced the battery and did the BCM (Body Control Module Reprogramming with SPS ) update. And we are now running fine. They also did the dealer included oil change and tire rotation - all no charge.

Hi All Thanks for the Posts! I Purchased a Brandy New 2023 Tahoe a week before Christmas and was Loving it unti Christmas morning. This is like a fairy tale but its not I loaded the car with gifts and food hit the remote start and loaded all 3 rows with family guests who flew in the night before for a early trip to Grandmas house. When on the coldest day of the year if anyone remembers hear in northeast it was teens to single digits, I hit the break and start button the truck became possessed. Like most I tried everything to get the electronics to shut off as the engine stalled to no avail. I even tried open closing doors and locking and unlocking to trick the computer. Nothing worked so i grabbed a 10 mm socket and disconnected the battery for about a minute while we were all freezing. Computer reset and I manually restarted the vehicle and off to grandmas house. Fast forward few days after New Years i called the dealership to hear a response “we never heard of anything like that before, keep an eye on it and let us know if it happens again”…..So as of January 2023 I guess theres no software fix for this issue…Pretty sad!

There is a fix. It involves a software update to the BCM. See this post.
