2022 Yukon Denali All-Terrain Tires (stock P275/50R22)

The vehicle is coming with 22" wheels because that's what comes standard with the premium capability package with active response 4WD, to my understanding. Has anyone had success with BFG All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires? The only ones that I can see that BFG makes that could make sense are the 33x12.5R22 tires.

Appears that the diameter has a negligible difference (stock: 32.8"/new: 33.0"); the 9" wheel width would fit inside the 8.5"-11" specifications for the new tires; but the width of the tires when installed would be 12.5", whereas the stock tire width when installed is 10.8".

Does anyone have these tires installed? If so, any issues with road debris from the wider tires? Any issues with the brake calipers with the wider tire width from above?

Alternatively, does anyone have a good all-terrain/snow tire they recommend that is of the same/similar quality as the BFG tire, which I love?

Still running stock tires on my Yukon At4, but we also have a Silverado and Colorado -- these have run BFG T/A K02s, GY Duratracs, and Falken Wildpeak At3s. All carry the 3PMSF rating. I think they are all pretty similar -- i'd rank the Duratracs at the bottom solely for noise. If you want an alternative to the BFGs I'd take a look at the Falkens.

Installed 305/45/22 toyo at3’s on the wifes tahoe a month ago. Have been working very well so far this winter. We have also used the nitto terra grappler g2’s with GREAT success, however they were on national backorder last month anyway with no end in site.

I was eyeing up the ko2’s but eventually declined as imo that is just a touch too wide for good winter performance. Was also worried about rubbing issues with that width and wasnt about to play the cutting game on her brand new ride. If they would fit without trimming, it would be extremely close.

I have the falken wild peak at3w’s on my truck and had them on her last denali…great tires.

The issue with the 22’s is they only offer it in a 285/45, which is considerably shorter than the stock size with the new models. We wanted them again, but went with toyos instead.

They fit just fine on her completely stock rig.

I would like to add another data point. I had 285/50r22 toyo at3’s installed a few days ago on a 2021 Suburban. At normal ride height there is no issue with rubbing, in entry/exit mode (lowered 2 inches) the front tires intermittently brush against the fender liner with the steering wheel turned all the way.

Another thing to consider when looking at 305/45r22 vs 285/50r22 vs 33x12.5r22 … air pressure requirements. Per Toyo’s published load/inflation tables

P275/50r22 = 2403 lbs at 36 psi
P305/45r22 = 2458 lbs at 32 psi

For p rated tires on a truck you have to derate by 10% so both above tires give you a load rating around 2150 lbs each, 4300 lbs is the rear axle weight rating on a 2021 Suburban.

LT285/50r22 = 2125 lbs at 45 psi
LT33x12.5r22 = 2160 lbs at 60 psi

So you have to run 33x12.5r22’s at 60 psi to maintain factory rear axle weight rating. Not sure factory valve stems are rated for that, definitely seems like that psi will affect ride quality. I have my 285/50r22’s set for 45 psi.

Well, its not the exact same wheels as hers is a high country, but they are 22’s with toyo at3 305/45/22. I have since leveled it up front, but that was not needed to clear the tires. Had no rubbing issues at all at stock height. It does not have the air suspension…however i have read someone who stated they had the same size tires with air and have no rubbing at any height setting.
