I just got back from the dealer and it looks like the 2022 Yukon can be impacted by the same issue that's outlined in TSB N212353390.
I was at the dealer on Friday, they tested and replaced the battery. The issues continued over the weekend.
This issue appears to have started occurring after the N22-235945 OTA update was pushed 3/04/23.
Some of the symptoms I observed but not in any predictable or consistent order were as follows:
- Low Battery / Harder to start
- Completely dead battery, drained in less than 6 hours on a new battery, continued to drain below a usable amount of capacity even with AGM tender connected.
- Failure of LKA / ACC / TC
- Slow Power Windows
- One power step would function while the other would not
- Infotainment system in a loop
- Both key fobs not being detected, even when placed above the sensor in the driver side cup holder, even though the remote start and remote unlock functions would continue to function.
- Failure to read VIN information from OBDII code reader
- cabin lights or external lights staying on or not coming on at all.
I'm pretty frustrated by the whole ordeal, but it does look like they isolated the issue to the Serial Data Gateway Module, though they didn't call out the TSB directly, it does appear to match the exact symptoms. Sadly, the part is on back order and they couldn't give an ETA, so I guess I'm kind of stuck waiting on the part and making sure I remember to connect the battery tender when the vehicle is powered off for a few hours.
Has anyone else on here seen any issues over the past month, post OTA update?
My take away is that GM is doing a horrible job with OTA update testing and validation, in theory this should be something that's caught during unit / integration testing as part of any software development lifecycle.
