I just picked this thing up a couple of weeks ago and I've now noticed that under hard acceleration I'm getting a relatively loud whining noise. It sounds like it's coming from the cabin, not from the engine compartment. Only makes the sound under hard acceleration, so speed has nothing to do with it. From what I've gathered, it sounds like the high pressure fuel pump is likely going bad, but I wanted to throw the question out here before taking it to the dealership. Has just under 37k miles.

Am I really the only one that's ever experienced this?

You sure it’s not your exhaust or perhaps an accessory belt pulley? I noticed kind of a higher pitched hollow sound emanating into the cabin with mine. Not sure if it’s the same as yours. That being said, highly doubt the fuel pump could make that kind of sound that would make its way all the way into the cabin. And only making a sound like that under hard acceleration. Your best bet here is to record a video and post it up here.

There’s a little backflow valve in the exhaust. it’s around the area below your seat. maybe it’s stuck/whining. it would move when you push the rpm
