My current build for my 2023 Tahoe RST.

I bought a 2021-2023 oem rear bose subwoofer box part number #84776627. The box is 4 inches deep where it molds to the gas filler neck inside the fender. Then it tapers up to 5 inches deep. I purchased a Kicker comprt 2-ohm 8-inch subwoofer with a mounting depth of 2 11/16 inches. I am powering it with an Audio Control amplifier — 300 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms. I picked the amp because it is small and the RMS wattage matches the sub, it also has an internal line output converter.

I believe all 3 models, Regardless of trim level, have the same space in the rear driverside panel.
There's a guy that did a writeup on this under somebody else's subwoofer thread that I'm looking for right now that did just that. I think he used the 2019 Escalade unit with a 10" sub and swapped the sub out for a JL Audio or something and it all fit back there leaving him with decent thump, but looking totally stock.

Anyone try the JL Stealth box made for that spot as a direct replacement of the BOSE Factory sub? Thinking about it and trying to get some feedback on any results. Thanks

There’s a half dozen existing threads that answer this. Did you search for “stealth box” yet?

No, I hadn't, but since this was a thread about sub upgraded figured I'd ask the question...

For folk who’ve added a sub (considering the caddy box to do something on the cheap), what are you doing for an amp? Would like something that fits behind the trim.
