Not sure I agree what you quoted, I am sure someone stated this, but I think if this is such a common issue, there would be far more people commenting about this type of event.

The problem is how to quantify the severity event and is it really normal or is the issue an indicator that something is wrong and needs further investigation.

My neighbor has a 2023 Tahoe and he has complained about this. My 2024 Suburban doesn't do this. Both 5.3.

We have a 2022 Denali with 21k miles. Our 6.2 runs and idles so smoothly you can hardly tell that it is running. At stop lights the RPM shows 500 or even less! I don't know what the computer is doing at idle, running on 4 cyl? 2 cyl?, swapping back and forth to different combinations? Whatever is going on it is working just fine, at least for now (knock on wood).
