Gentlemen, if this has been discussed I cannot find it. A new member here. As of tonight.

I have ordered a 2023 Yukon Denali XL with, of course, no super cruise or Baer brakes. I found this link online however:


So, not available from the factory. Maybe available from a dealer. The question is this. Assuming real availability, this came up on the dealer site as a 2wd option only. I ordered a 4wd Denali, of course.

Is there a difference between 2wd and 4wd brakes on 2023 Yukon Denali XL?

Call ShopChevyParts, their website isn't always the most up to date in each category. I see no reason why the brakes would be different but admittedly am not up to speed on the current generation.

Might take a few days to get in touch with them, there's a howling outside and lots of rain in Florida now and for the next couple of days.

No difference at all. This Brembo package was available from factory but truthfully, it would just be installed at the dealership. Availability may still be very low at this point. For anyone interested in these, I just recently had dealership install these on my Tahoe 6.2 RST. Unless something is out of spec, they definitely do change ride quality. Grade A for braking, but these rotors and possibly calipers are heavy. My acceleration seems slower, the car seems to make a little more effort accelerating and any consequence of added unsprung weight is definitely felt. I went back to dealer to verify if maybe a pad is running on rotor or dragging caliper, etc but they claim everything is normal. Really considering removing these. I'll have it checked by another dealer before doing so. Braking on the other hand definitely improved.

Interesting consequence. I have not experienced the heavier feel of an upgrade on a truck because I have never upgraded any of my suburbans or my current 2011 yukon xl. But your experience makes sense.

I now know that these days brake upgrades are really not needed unless encountering heavy loads, towing or going down mountains. The limiting factor in braking anyway is the tires and heat. Upgrades are more of an insurance policy, providing protection in those cases where additional clamp is the only way that the truck can be slowed, going back to the second sentence above.

I look back to my experience with my 90 SHO. I put it on the track with upgraded brakes. I did not upgrade to racing pads, since those won't stop anything in a in a street application. 2 hours, 30 minutes at a time. It destroyed my rotors and pads. This was despite the fact that I upgraded the brakes. Before the upgrade I tested my brakes by going 90 mph, then stomping. It fully utilized anti-lock all the way down from 90 mph. No fade whatsoever. The brakes did exactly what whey were designed to do, But, no towing, no racing, no whales in the car with me. Nor would the car encounter those situations.

So my thoughts, driving our current 2011 Yukon XL, factory brakes are more than adequate day to day. Towing inclines, and load present a different challenge. Factory brakes do not cut it.

I plan the upgrade. It will be interesting to see if I can feel the additional weight in the front end of my 23 Yukon XL, assuming GM ever decides to build it. Even if I feel it I will stay with the upgrade.

Night and day difference in stopping ease and power w Brembo GM kit on 18 Tahoe rst. New Denali 23 ultimate stock brakes are noticeably less stoppy. I’m looking into Brembo kit for Denali ultimate.

I have the Brembo Performance Brake kit installed on the front only on my 2023 Yukon Denali Duramax 4x4 with Air Suspension. Installed by the local dealer. The only issue installing these is that the larger front CV joint blocks access to the four bolts holding on the hub at the yoke. Need to pull the axle out a bit in order to gain clearance needed to separate the hub from yoke and swap out the dust shield.

Well, I am the proud owner of Brembo brakes on the wife's 2023 Yukon Denali XL. I noticed my pad wear sensors are not showing in my screen. Rears are working fine. Anyone know if the pad wear sensors carry over to the Brembos?
