Hey everyone... I tried to hold my wife back for the 2025 Yukon diesel, but she's ready and we found a really good deal... So we found a 6.2 AT4, but I'm seeing issues with lifters. Seems like more on the 21-22, but was just wondering what everyone thought on the 2024's. Also seeing conflicting things about DFM disabling. We go pick it up tomorrow unless I hear more bad things

Low mileage lifter issues are from the 21-22 MYs. The issue that hasn't seemed to stop is the main bearing failure on the 6.2. GM has a machining issue where main bearings and sometimes rod bearings starve of oil and the engine locks up - or sounds like a metal bowl full of marbles. The good news is you'll get a new engine as most everyone that ends up having this issue this has it at low miles when it's still in warranty.

DFM disable is now possible with a device from Range - a couple hundred bucks and DFM will never turn on again.

As a '22 LM2 diesel owner, personally I'd tell you to wait. The fuel economy, towing and quiet ride of the diesel is 100% worth it. I totally get the anxiety of waiting, but if you really wanted the diesel to begin with I think you should look for an LM2 that's still on a lot or put in an order for the LZ0 and take delivery Spring of next year.

thank you for that! I think one reason we went away from the diesel is her daily round trip is 5-7 miles. We both work from home so it would"t get driven a lot, plus we don't tow anything. It would be mostly for the 6-7 "long trips" we make a year.

I’d have no issue buying a 6.2 myself. But…new diesel will more desirable engine in this size however rumor is the diesel will initially only come in uber high trims. you’ll need all high end packages to order. maybe not worth it IMHO. 6.2 is a good engine.

that was the other thing... I keep seeing the costs go up on the lower model 2025's. I think every car is way over priced.. Saws the new trailhunter tacoma was going to be about 67k, for a 4cyl

Overpriced for sure! Did some windows shopping myself this week. Even at employee pricing & trade my 10K mile 2023 SLT Duramax I need to bring $22K USD for 2025 High Country Tahoe. Not jumping to do it but do love the 6.2

well we hopped in the car this morning and just got back and picked her up. Already ordered the Range DFM module, and had to get some mats. LOVE it so far other than the wireless charger.. For some reason it turns on then stops about 10 seconds laterGMC.jpg
