2024 yukon denali range estimate

my 2024 yukon denali has 1700 miles. The range estimate seems off by quite a bit. when full with 24 gallons of fuel and an average MPG of 20, the range says 430 miles. mY older 2021 yukon which I traded in , always showed around 480 miles range when full 24 gallons and approx, 20 MPG. The dealer says I need to drive several thousand mile and it will fix this problem. I doubt that is correct. Thoughts?

If it was on the lot for much time at all, they likely idled it daily - that will pull down the estimated range.

In my Tahoe (2023) the range was pretty low when I bought it. It had been on the lot for 100 days +/- and idled almost daily to thaw the windows (Northern Michigan). It's the diesel, but my last fill up range estimate was ~540 miles.

The more I drive, the more my average has gone up and the more the range estimate has gone up.

I'm not sure it would take several thousand miles, unless the break-in improves the mpg.

Yeah I started with 420 mile range at full fill up now after 4 weeks I'm like 350 and the "needle" doesn't seem to go down as the range changes.

It's some form of AI and is smarter than us. My range estimate jumps way up after I take a highway drive, then drops again after my usual around town driving. I think I already knew that. Not sure how often it performs the calculation, but then I still haven't figured out when and why the retractable side board lights come on.

In my 2023 Premier you can choose 50 or 450 mile intervals for the range and average numbers.

This is what I determined this weekend, too. I made my first 4-hour drive in my '23 Denali this weekend -- and once the truck recognized that I was on a long trip at highway speeds, it reset my range to something much higher than I'd ever been given before.

When I fill up driving on the road, I show 500 miles range. When I fill up driving around town, I show 400 miles range. 2021 Escalade short body.

I traded in a 2019 for this 2023 and the same. Really low estimate. I will be doing a 450+ trip in a week so I will verify it myself by doing the math. Will let u know.
