2024 Yukon - wait time for super cruise mapping control module update?

I recently bought a 2024 Yukon Denali. Pretty sure it's going to need the super cruise mapping control module software update. Areas on the updated map where super cruise has no data. It's been on the dealer lot for 2 or 3 months before I bought it. Does the purchase trigger the recall needed to get the update? My dealer says there is nothing they can do until they get the recall. Would it not get the recall sitting on the lot?

It's not a recall. It's an update. The notice I got in the mail was dated October, but I didn't get the notice until last week (in December). If it's been on the lot since September or October, yeah, I'd bet it will need the update.

...But your dealer can absolutely look up your VIN and see any bulletins associated with it.

Dealer says there are no programs associated with it - yet. I guess it's just a waiting game between the "quarterly super cruise map updates" and the mapping module update.

It would really be nice to be able to see the latest super cruise map update in settings.

If your dealer checked, and nothing came up for your vehicle, then maybe it's already in your truck.

Just this morning - 10 days after purchase, Super Cruise is now working on mapped areas that it wasn't before. Must have got an update. Just takes a while I guess. Perhaps I don't even need the mapping module update.
