Just curious in anyone’s new 2025 Tahoe/Suburban infotainment system, does it now allow independent watching on the front screen (in park of course) as well as the rear screens? We used to use the front screen in our old 2019 Tahoe while parked, but then they removed the front screen mirroring/video option in the 2021-2024's.

Also I saw in a few 2025 Tahoe/Surburban review videos you can now download the Prime Video, Tubi, Peacock to stream on the FRONT screen now. How well does this work and does it fill the entire new wide screen? Can you download any Google Playstore streaming video app on the front screen now, like ESPN, Youtube or Disney Plus? Re-introducing Entertainment video streaming on the Front screen would be great, instead of the old mirror option from 2019.

Hoping GM opens up the new wide screen functionally while in park to watch/stream videos like Youtube on the new wide screen! Of course only in park, but would be great waiting for family/sports games etc...

What does the owner's manual say?

Online manual is not clear about the front screen streaming capabilities. Only some 2025’s have this capability if equipped with rear passenger entertainment, does the entertainment hub work and appear.

That is why I was requesting feedback from actual 2025 owners with the full rear entertainment/technology package. Even in person at dealership it’s in demo mode so you can not fully experience the google play store and streaming apps without registering and logging into your google account to download apps for video.

How well does the front screen video streaming work? (Of course only while in park)
Does it fill the entire new wide display?
Are their only a select approved Google Streaming Video apps available like Prime Video/Peacock or did GM finally allow a customer freedom to pick apps like YouTube, ESPN, Disney, Netflix to be accessible on the front screen while parked? Especially providing a third screen for steaming video while in park aka Android Tablet on the OEM Screen.

Instead of the pre-installed YouTube, YouTube Kids, browser on the rear screen monitors.

From Chevrolet/GM: https://www.chevrolet.com/support/vehicle/entertainment/displays-radio/stream-content-from-vehicle

I realize there are unofficial Android and CarPlay boxes one can buy off Amazon that trick the system to play video in park or even while moving. I’m more curious to how GM is slowly bringing more functionality to the built in screens from entertainment and information. They finally added an Internet Browser to 2025’s rear entertainment screens, even if only accessible while parked.

It does work independently from the rear. Screenshots attached. Regular mode vs zoomed in mode shown. It has prime video,
HBO max, peacock. Does not have disney or espn but it does have a chrome browser so theoretically you could stream from the web browser. The apps for the front are different from the rear. Netflix not included. Using 2 fire sticks for the rear screens. Video app selection is sub par but screen video quality is good. Basically need to use external inputs in the rear or web browser up front if you want to access non-included streaming platforms.

Thank you! Great feedback and exactly what I was looking for from current owner. Hopefully they open up more streaming video apps over time on the front screen, instead of relying on fire sticks or hdmi inputs like an Apple TV. The tech and stack is already there just need to allow it!

Browser access on front screen was a nice surprise, as I thought that the browser was just on each rear screen.
Good start!

Hope this helps others in the future with similar questions. Thanks again!

I use the front screen to watch Amazon Prime shows, but that video cannot be pushed to the rear screens which is really odd to me as its very simple software functionality.

You have Google Chrome on the front screen as well so you can literally access any site.

The 5G cellular connectivity is very good, I have never used the 4G in the older vehicles but I can say we never see buffering or connectivity issues.

The Rear Seat Entertainment System (RSE) for 25 is significantly dumbed down from prior systems. No more loading the Google Maps on the RSE, no more pushing video to front screen with vehicle in PARK. Its connected to your OnStar Data Plan now and I know in Canada they have no preloaded Apps the streaming is completely shut off unless you run 3rd party streaming device. This due to the OnStar data plans and the USA data plan is unlimited vs Canada not having unlimited. Very misleading marketing by GM on this.

I'm running an ONN 4K Video Streaming Box which I have zap strapped under 2nd row Captains Chair. HDMI and Power cables run under rubber floor mats to the center console.

It would be nice if there was a way to connect a 3rd party streaming device without having an HDMI and Power cable sticking out of the center console where kids can bang as they get in and out. Plus having the Power Console Option causes an issue when you start to slide the console back you need slack in your cabling or they will rip out and damage the HDMI ports.

I have not seen any way to download Apps to the RSE its locked up as far as I know.

These new Tahoe's are so well engineered the RSE is a major let down for me considering how good the tech is in the rest of the vehicle.
