Hello,

22 YUKON DENALI XL SQUEALING AFTER COLD START FOR ABOUT 40 SECONDS WHILE THE ENGINE REVS. Took it to dealer and they applied heavy silicone lubricant and said it was fixed, of course I start it in the parking lot and its still there, maybe worse. Didn't have time to go in and honestly not happy with the level of service for this vehicle or dealer in particular.

Anyone else with a 6.2 having this issue?

Normal noise as I suggested when you postd the same thing in this thread earlier this week, read the TSB I linked:

Mine does it too...esp after a cold start, lasts 10-15 seconds in summer, 40-60 in the winter...which is why I expect it is retarded timing for catalyst light off.

The engine management strategy is to retard the timing so that the catalyst in the catalytic converter gets hot quicker, thereby minimizing the emissions from a cold engine. Engineering solution to the government emissions requirements...with timing heavily retarded, there will be some noise...it settles down after a minute and is smooth, right? Seems to be working as designed.

Didn't have time to go in and honestly not happy with the level of service for this vehicle or dealer in particular.
This, though, is a fail on your dealer's part, as they should have done what the TSB says and explained it to you.

Thank you, and my apologies for missing the reply on the other thread. I will take a look at the TSB but feel some sense of relief knowing why, but also why should a Yukon sound like a 90's minivan when it starts lol.

Regarding the service, i previously owned a lexus and infiniti and was used to a high level of service, dealing only with an advisor and getting a comprehensive update as to what was fixed etc. I guess i was just spoiled, but would expect GM to have a better level of service with a vehicle of this cost. No loaners, poor communication and transparency.
