2nd engine failure, waiting since Oct 17/2024

I am a life long Chevy guy since the 60s but I have severe misgivings about buying another.
Being retired we can't put up with all the sh** that seems to be acceptable to them in their engine designs.
Engineers in my field don't screw with things that work. Car designers seem to not have that common sense.

Definitely sounds like a lemon law claim. Fortunately for you, GM does not put up much of a fight with a lemon claim once you file it. I had a 2021 Canyon that was in and out with an emissions issue, once I filed the claim it was settled within 3 months.

I’m sure that may differ from state to state, mine was in CA and the qualifications for a lemon claim are 3 or more visits to the dealer for a recognized fault, and still no resolution or repair. Mine had 6. It happens, and fortunately GM acknowledges it quickly and wants to move on. My buddy had a righteous lemon claim on a Ford Mustang and it stretched on for 3 years, with Ford fighting every step of the way. He eventually won.

I’d recommend reviewing the laws in your state and contacting a lemon law attorney. They’ll either buy back the car or let you keep it with a cash settlement.

Thank u for your reply and after reading what you went through I realize that things could be worse on my end.
The process that GM has for known engine failure is a joke,I know they can do better than that.I was part of GM salary for over 40 years and Im ashamed of the way they handle engine failures especially on vehicles that have 2 and 3 failures. Wasn't long ago that they would stop producing if they had a known problem and not start backup until a good start point was provided. Today it seems they just build it unless its an MVSS issue.

Incidentally, engine failures have been reported by Escalade owners on the Cadillac Forum, too (as you probably can imagine).
