talk to me about this free travel mod... reading up on it being done with a plasma cutter, but all i have is a grinder or sawzall. will a 4" cutoff wheel suffice? i thought it was like a 10 min deal, now it looks a little more involved

you can use a sawzall and cut along frame and be fine.

Did mine with a sawzall...took about 20 mins per side. Just be careful of the gas tank on the driver side.

Ok thanks guys. Now heres another newb question... how do the trailing arm brackets go on? They look really confusing on my garage floor

I know this stuff is gonna be no big deal when I get into it, I just wanna have all the knowledge I can before I even bust the tires loose

rear brackets

1) only do one side at a time
2) drop lower control off axle
3) bolt up trailing arm relocator
4) jack the front of the axle where ds goes in to twist it up so lines up with the trailing arm relocator
5) bolt it in and then do the other side

no prob anytime man.

on the rear bar adjust it when truck is on the ground after the drop. you can spin it with a open end wrench to where you want it to sit. If you want you can put some weight in the back to make the rear end come down even more so you can adjust it exactly to the mm.

So adjust it with the weight on the tires? Seems like you would want the weight off it to center the axle, or will it just pull the body in line?
