New to the forum, searched for this but could not find.
I found a set of wheels and tires with sensors locally that seem like a great deal.
They are 305/45/22. The seller claims they are off a 07 tahoe and i would like to put them on a 09 tahoe 4wd. Tires are falken ziex zo4.
From everything i have read these tires are too big.
Can anyone give me some insight?
Thanks for the help

As long as your not lowered, they will fit. You may get a little rub in the front while in reverse but should go away as the tires wear down.

It's also going to make a difference on the rubbing on the backspacing of the wheels.

*Edit- i just realized i have 305/40r22 not 305/45r22. The info below applies to 305/40r22. Sorry...

I just purchased a set of 22x9.5 +38 offset KMC Splinters. I had originally planned on using the 285 stock size tires. I had them mounted up and when I first looked at them I couldn't believe how different they looked on my wheels compared to stock wheels. They were just way too narrow. I ended up getting the 305's. I think they look much better. They do rub in the rear when going into parking lots. They rub the plastic that covers the shocks. I have no regrets using that size though.

I have a 2004 Yukon XL Denali and I have 23" rims Wrapped in Kuhmo STX 305/40/23 tires and I have no clearance issues. the 305 on the tire is the width and the 45 is the sidewall height. Your has about an 1.3 inch higher than mine rubber but I also have that extra inch on my rims so that minimal amount wont give you any problems. I just have to warn you if you live in any place that has snow, hold onto you old rims with tires on them for the winter months because these wide tires are terrible in snow. So I would have it pimped in the summer and ready for snow in the winter. Plus it keeps salt and gravel off of your nice 22" rims. My 23" are very rare so for me to bye rubber for these is expensive so I try to keep as much mileage off them as I can and keeping them dormant in the winter months keeps my babies warm and clean all winter. Go ahead and buy them bad boys you wont be disappointed. The ride is a little rough but not to bad. handling is much better on dry roads but on snow or ice your going to be skating. My wife chewed my a$$ the first year I had them and left them on for the first part of winter and she said it handles horrible and I almost had an accident! ACCIDENT!!!! with my baby that's all I needed to hear and I went out and got the stock rims wrapped with the Falken ziex zo4 because they were the cheapest to buy. on my 23" the Falkens were 278 a tire and the Kuhmos were 466 a tire and it had a longer life pattern and better grip pattern, they are directional tires so I liked the Kuhmos STX tires. and the Falkens work great in the winter. Buy them but if your anywhere there is snow keep your Stock tires ready for winter. +-

Just some more insight you can fit 28" rims onto a Tahoe you just need to modify some things. But the 22" and the tires you have should work just as long as they have a 6 bolt pattern and there is no extreme offset on them. Could you grace us with some pictures if you could please it would be easier to gauge the offset. Because if the offset is too deep and make the wheels stick out past the wheel wells you will have rubbing problems. Or go over to the guys place jack up your Tahoe zip your old rim of one side put his on and turn the wheel all the way over and pack and inspect it for any clearance issues then you will know 100% if they will work. If the buyer lets you do that. By the way how much is he asking for the rims and rubber?? My Giovanni's and Kuhmos ran me $5500 not mounted balanced or installed. Plus with your new rims you will get a low tire light on your dash since the new tires wont have the TPM Tire Pressure Monitor in the tires and if it did its not calibrated to your Tahoe and if you plan to leave them on all the time you can buy 4 new ones for $120 a piece and have them calibrated to you Hoe if the TPM fits. They usually done have enough clearance in order to fit in low profile tires. Contact me if you need anymore help. I enjoy helping as much as I can. I maybe wrong but most of the time I'm right and your odds are better then taking my advice instead of asking a urinal, Take Care Fellow Chevy/GMC Family member

305/45/22s will rub quite a bit, 305/40/22s will have an almost insignificant amount of rub when the truck is turning into a pitched road, like turning into/out of an angled driveway, but so little that it almost never happens.

I have 305/35/24 and rarely rub, only at full turn going up or down a curb. And maybe when the tire was new, at full lock making a u turn. But day to day driving I don't rub.

The wheel well from 2004 to 2009 must have got smaller then because my 305\40\23 don't rub turning the tires as far as they can go. Maybe you should listen to the 2007 and above. and I apologize I ended up in the wrong thread. I just looked and I'm in the wrong group of people. I'm Soooo Sorry.

If a 24 inch rim with 35 and yours are 22 with 45 should react the same as noob. Which is promising. If your able to remove mudflapps or grind down some pieces you maybe good.

I am also new to the forum and would like to get "Versante Wheels 212 12-Spoke 22x9.5 Chrome Low Offset" added to my 2007 Yukon XL. I would like to use 305/40R22 tires and am wondering will these rub. This will be my 2nd mod to my ride and I want to do it right. At some point I will also lower and have been reading about the kit in NORCAL 4/6 on 24s Esclade thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I don't ruin any good rubber from the start.

I tried to get my 23" plus rubber the same height as my OEM tires. and they rubbed only when I turned real tight and I removed my ugly mud Flaps where is was rubbing and no more problems clears everything even on tight turns.

Yep it'll work just fine if you are getting road tires. I have 305/40/22 Nitto NT420S road tires on my 07 escalade and there is no rubbing. I know another member on here (Ben) with some aggressive all-terrain treaded tires in the same size and is getting some rubbing though.
