33 inch tires on 2 inch rc level kit?

I have 285/70 17’s (32.8”) with a 2.5 ish lift all the way around. On stock 2015 rims. No rubbing at all and I think it looks good. Didn’t regear either and truck drives beautiful. Fender heights at the moment are 39” all the way around

Hi guys, I am new on this forum and have been reading up about the right tire size for my hoe. I have a 2003 Tahoe LS 2wd, my goal is to have a good looking truck that I can take on mild trails. the rough country kit that I bought is a 2 inch kit that has front torsion keys and four shocks and rear .75 inch coil spacers.

I was wondering what tire size would look good with is kit, rough country says the kit will be able to fit 285/75 r16 (33s).

Can I fit a bigger tire? (i don't care if I have to trim a little bit)

What all terrain tires do you recommend?

Any other ideas with what else I should purchase as a new tahoe owner?

I appologize in advance if i asked a obvious question, I am new to forums and tahoes.

I’m running 315/70/17 on nothing except a torsion bar crank. With a bit of trimming you’d be fine.

I run a 32.7" tall tire thats 13" wide on my 24's and I am dropped 3/4 lol

285/75/16s should work fine with a 2" lift. I have keys up front and only Z71 springs on the back of my '04 Burb (IOW no spacers) and have been running 285/75/16 for over a year with no issues. Of course, yours being a 2wd, I don't know what gear ratio you would have. My 4x4 'Burb has 3.73 and as I said, does fine on 33's.

FWIW I'm also running Bilstien 5100's all around.

As for tires, I was a BFG AT KO guy for years but last year I discovered the Falken Wildpeak AT3W and I really like them. Performance similar to the BFGs but saved almost $200 on a set of 4.

I put the 2 inch keys up front,so i didnt have to max out the stock ones.33 will fit easy its the width you have to watch mine are 11 inches wide.No rubbing or trimming anything,275/60-20 GOODYEAR WRANGLER DURATRAC is what i got and think it looks perfect for the truck without a big lift i wish i could have.I have found tire pressure make a big diff in ride harshness.38psi is the softest ride-over 40 and it gets rougher,max pressure is 51

As someone else said earlier, "some are luckier than others". I leveled my 03 z71 with 3" keys and 2" rear spring spacers. All good! ride quality didn't change. Put 33X12.50 on 17" wheels and now my front gears chatter so bad. Dropped down to 265/70r17 and the gear chatter went away.

To each their own but that's my .02 on the subject. I just wasn't lucky enough to pull it off. Decided it is worth the money to go up 6 more inches in the spring and do some research on changing the gears to keep from burning up really expensive components up.

thats weird a 265/70/17 tire is 31.7 diameter and 33 is 33 not much difference-you need to rebuild your front diff.

Don't some 2wd Tahoes have 3.42 gears? I could see having issues with 3.42s. That's pretty marginal for a vehicle as heavy as the Tahoe and adding bigger tires could be the straw that broke the camel's back.

With 3.73s I don't have any issues with my 'Burb.

I'm running 275/60/20's (33x11) with 3.42 gears. Definitely feel the difference over stock tires, but overall it's not bad.

What kind of lift did you use? I have 285/70/17 on my stock height. Only rubs in revers with wheel turned to the right. Wanting to up a little to remedy it
