^^^ yup. I run the E motor in mine. My tahoe is 49 state emmisions legal and sounds down right nasty considering that.

Edit:

JBA shorties, Magnaflow Y pipe and cats, Borla cat back, PCM4LESS dyno tune, K&N FIPK....Oh yeah a little 383 under the hood.

A quick edit: put a 40 series muffler on the suburban, stock motor has a BB tune but nothing else. Amazing the difference in the two

Edit for 49 state legal

Simple all parts on the truck are SOLD as 50 state legal, cats and all from the best of my memory. The truck has all the proper Emmisions items as it did stock.

It looks like I stand corrected, sorry I mislead you. It took some looking but I found a few articles as well that say not CA. Well sorry about that. I had never seen the no CA before. All I ever read was smog legal, direct replacement. But I saw there are also a few states in the Northeast that limit the uses of this motor install wise.

So again, sorry for that. My truck is now 49 state lol. I guess everything but the motor is good in CA then ha-ha

I'm not sure why since all the emmisions control items are still in tack.

Might be one of those dumb laws like you cannot alter stock equipment.

Not sure how they would ever know though other than running the numbers on the mtor as this one runs very clean.
