A little late to give info, but what hbr said is true. pull back and forth on the headrest, and lift the lever, and it should release the seat. If you have kids like me, probably a small little toy, or maybe even a coin might be stuck in there, the wiggle action will release it.

man I have this problem too. I have tried what u guys said and it wont budge. I have tried it with a friend sitting on it and pushing it back and me pulling it and still nothing. And I need to take the seat out ASAP.

Anyone find a solution to this? Have the same problem w/ my passenger side. Use to be stubborn every other time or so and now I can't get it to fold down at all.

I really wish that I would have known this last May... My passenger side third-row seat absolutely WOULD NOT release.... I ended up getting frustrated and cutting the leather out, ripping the seat to shreds, and releasing it from the inside of the seat.... I regret it now, but I CANNOT stand knowing that something doesn't work, so I handled it.... Haha.

wow, old thread. I was able to open up the inner joint at the boot and push down where you see a spring assembly. g.m. does have a t.s.b. and revised hardware for the 3rd row seat latch. took me about 15 min. to get seat out... p.m. for more info and can probably find pics later.

please share your knowledge with all of us. my 3rd row drivers seat is incredibly hard to move from upright so it can be used to sit in. I can do it, but my wife can't and is requesting I fix it so it operates like passenger side seat.
