You realize that thread is 10+ years old? and the kit is dependent on a custom bracket made by the guy who posted.
He could be dead.
I remember people doing that though back then on camaros and earlier vettes with 2p calipers. It worked OK but lots of minor fab work.

And the early Z06 caliper is a PBR caliper. Folks weren't too impressed by them. I thought they stopped really well for street applications.

If you really wanted a 6P caliper, I would steer you in the direction of wilwood, GM performance, brembo or stoptech......all much closer to "bolt on" than a PBR.
And all $2000+

BTW.....I've had them all on various cars and trucks. StopTechs are awesome.....but very pricey. Same with APRacing, but Awesome.
R1 makes an 6 and 8 piston caliper and they don't even list the price.....whoa!

And I have say GM puts them all to shame, major shame, with the $75 super caliper. And I've never been impressed by GM engineering.....There was always something obviously wrong. LOL

I remember seeing that years ago. The "good news" about the C6 Z06 caliper is there should be plenty out there used which help with the cost but Baer is very proud of their stuff so I bet those rotors are stupid expensive. The design of those calipers isn't the best though, there's a reason GM now uses Brembo. It also depends on if that guy still makes those brackets and how much he wants for them.

If that included brackets for the rear also that would be a good deal but that costs more than the brackets to use the C6 ZR1 Brembo calipers from the other company. The ZR1 calipers work with the 16" rotor so that would be a MUCH better setup than the Z06 calipers. Other than for looks, these truck really don't need bigger rear brakes. I just bought a set of the Powerstop powder coated red stock calipers for mine which matched the GM Brembo kit pretty well color wise.

Yeah the guy that makes those brackets, Rudy, he's a good dude. He's alive and well

That's good to know, I know a lot of older forum members that have vanished and always wonder what happened to them. If the rotors and pads weren't so expensive it would be a worthwhile swap. I think the brackets are priced fairly but the wear items are far too expensive for a daily drive that see 20k+ a year on it.

Yeah the caliper and rotor prices got steep quick with that set up.

I agree. ZR1 Brembo is better.

Do you paint the backside of the pad red?
To make it look homogenous? I'm gonna do that.

I just have a budget theme on my tahoe, so I'm happy to stay OEM when I can. There's a big difference between $600 and $2500.
I'm still kinda kicking my self that I bought the fuel wheels when I should've bought the Ebay AT4 squigglies.
