The electrical activators, especially the originals were prone to failure. Jack the frt. up with the 4wd engaged and spin the wheels by hand and see if anything feels odd.

The nice thing about a 99 is most parts are available and inexpensive. Almost any part you throw at it is a win because through time and age it probably needed to be replaced.



Check your tcase bushings and speed sensor.
