So I still have my totaled 00' denali with 81k on the clock and a good 4l60e tranny in it (solid shifts and pink fluid for the last 10k I have owned it). Currently I have a 04 denali with 112k on it with a 4l65e that has been giving me intermittent issues, slow shifting/soft shifting at times and the fluid has been turning dark very quickly. Before I go to pick and pull to get rid of the entire 00' should I yank the 4l60e from it to put in my 04? or should I just let it go with the 00' truck? I know the 4l65e is stronger but I don't tow with my 04 so I would figure it wouldn't make much of a difference swapping in the slightly weaker 4l60e.
That being said would the 4l60e be a direct swap for the 4l65e in the 04 denali?
..And would it be a good idea as opposed to replacing it with a new 4l65e tranny?

unknown at this time.
Leave a 4l65e in the '04. But keep the 60 unit to sell.

Not sure of wiring at the moment but I think the bellhousings have saluting different hole positions to block.
