Hello,

I'm hoping this is any easy answer for someone:

2001 Yukon XL 5.3 4WD 4L60E

Does the Rear output shaft on the transmission have a seal,

Upon inspection, I can't tell if there's a seal or not.

It's really surprising there isn't clear cut info out there for such a popular transmission.

I've included two pictures.

Thanks for your help!

4l60e doesn't, 4l80e does. (What I was told anyways)

Neither pic worked on my end. (Quite common)
The tcase has a seal at each shaft though. While it's apart, look for pump rub.

yes, I'm good with all the t-case seals, just don't want to miss a seal at the back of the transmission, that is, if the t-case input seal doesn't take care of sealing both when they are mated..
