4l60e slipping

266k miles on original tranny. On my way home, I went to accelerate, and when it downshifted, it just revved like it was in neutral. I let off the gas, and it caught the gear. I tested it all the way home and it would do it every 2-3 times. As I pulled in my neighborhood, I came up the hill, and it would not come out of 1st. All the way to my driveway. What does this mean? Is this a simple rebuild? Is it electrical? And info would be helpful!

Go to 4l60e.com. That's where I went to get all the parts to rebuild mine. Sun shell is a must. If you are going to do it yourself then put in the best parts you can afford. If you have any questions give them a call. There service was the best I found when I did mine.

If you are not doing it yourself I always recommend a Jasper reman and you can call them and get a price to build it the way you want. I just like their product. Great warranty, too. Make sure the lines and cooler are flushed clean.

swap in 4l80 for the cost of a decent 4l60 rebuild..

I took it to a local family shop I've known for many years. They're looking at it today. I'll give an update sometime today.
