There is a 2000 4x4 Silverado 2500 forsale near me with a 6.0 and 4l80e. Would that truck have everything I need to swap the transmission into my 2005 Escalade?

IIRC:

New flexplate, or adapter

Crossmember

Wiring harness adapter

Different output shaft matched to the input spline count on the transfer case

Tcase adapter - different bolt pattern on the 80s vs the 60s

Longer front driveshaft

Shorter rear driveshaft

Dipstick tube

PCM reprogram; 4l80e has taller first gear, and the rest of the gears are closer ratio.

Is there any reason as to why the wiring and PCM from the donor truck wouldn’t work straight from the truck?

Not sure. 6.0 has larger injectors. Would need to fuss with that if you plan on swapping the ocm over. Being an esky, I think you have auto ride. I don't believe the silverados had that.

If you have Awd over 4wd, there's that. Plus you have efans, donor vehicle doesn't.

Any reason you want to swap pcm and wiring harness? Most folks use what they have plus an adapter

The Esky is already a 6.0 from the factory. The adapter kit and stand alone control module to run the 4l80e costs over $500 online. If I can buy an entire truck and use factory stuff for cheap, then I’d like to go that route.

The donor truck has a ton of miles on it, so I’ll rebuild the tranny. I can swap the output shaft then. Or I could use the truck transfer case.

I’m probably going to ditch the air ride anyway if I decide to lift it 2 or 3 inches.

My main goal is to not buy the online stuff to run the transmission.

You are better off keeping your stock pcm and repinning the harness to the 80e. No matter how you look at it you will need to get the pcm reprogrammed by a tuner. You are going to have to do aftermarket at some point to make it work. The 00 pcm won't control your fans and may be a software OS downgrade which will cause other issues. The reason I have an 02 pcm in my 00.

There is a relay harness you can add to your current trans harness which will allow you to run the 80e with 60e programming..the diff ratios have to be adjusted by a tuner..this will allow 1 harness operation of the 80e. Stock uses 2 harnesses for 2 diff speed sensors.

Unless you are willing to consider aftermarket I won't go further into detail about the wiring
But you can re pin your current harness and add the front sensor and tune it with HP tuners.

Mod your current cross member or buy a custom one. I have one from dirttrackracer on pt.net..dropped 10lbs using his and its more compact. I'm 2wd so I'll leave that part alone but awd requires a custom part to make it work and the guy that did them no longer is making them.

HP Tuners is better setup to control the trans..but EFI live can be used with the above method..plan it out and it's not a bad swap.
