Some of the overhaul kits come with a new set of check balls...Otherwise you can go grab one from your local hard parts supplier, probably for free or just leave it out, assuming you're talking about the reverse check ball at the rear of the case. If you're talking about one of the two 5/16" check balls in the valve body, you have to have both of them installed. Check w/hard parts suppliers, they should have some or even a good-used valve body you can harvest without having to spend time at the junk yard...
okay new problem. pump jammed nonto the turbine shaft so i had to pull the whole stack out of the transmission. before i drop this back in i noticed this bottom plate is moving around freely a lot. is there supposed to be this much freeplay for this part or do i need to take everything apart and build this stack back better. second pic shows how i can pull on the plate and close that gap. guess im tearing it all apart again tomorrow but should be a final time. i sandpapered the bushing on the pump so that it fits snug over the input turbine shaft but will actually get on and off the shaft without jamming. thanks for the help!
