4wd dont work

just replaced the 4wd actuator and i have the manual shift 4wd dont work still but the lights are lighting up. need help

which modes do not work and are you saying your 4wd indicator is lit? If all 4wd modes and nuetral does work the you may have a broken chain. If no modes but 2wd work the mode shift mechanism may have broke downstream of the external linkage shaft allowing the shaft to still command a front axle lock but not reach the shift fork and such.

2wd works but no 4lo or 4hi. i can hear the 4wd actuator motor engaging. and the 4wd shifter seems like its changing selections because it grinds a little.

If the nuetral does no work either then your linkage or mode shift mechanism inside is broken. If nuetral does work then the synchonizer assy is probably broken. In either case needs to be torn down.

neutral works. is there any thing in the front axle that fails other than the actuator

the shift fork and collar. Though if the fork broke you may or may not get the indicator light indicating 4wd. It would light if the engagement locking collar did. you should get in on a rack and put in drive and shift thru the tcase to see what happens with driveshafts and wheels.
