Well, it might show you the commanded and actual states. It sounds like B+ is somehow getting into the circuit for the encoder; that could be internal or in the wiring harness somewhere. Getting the AllDataDIY or similar wiring diagrams with pinouts would help troubleshoot that.

Thanks again. I have access to the use of a SnapOn Solus Pro but I really don’t know how to use it other than the very basics.

I could send you a PDF of the shop manual chapter on debug and repair of the 2 speed transfer case. Mine is for the 2007 model year, but the debug is likely identical for the 2008. You could go through it and see if the SnapOn scan tool can do the commanded parts of the process.

RPO codes sticker from the glove box. Is there a chart somewhere that I can use to cross reference this to see all of the options and equipment on this vehicle? Thanks 8ECA70CB-0232-45F6-9AEE-5A7924AB1F1D.jpeg

Easiest way is to go to www.gmc.com, sign up for a free account, then message them (chat or email) with your VIN and ask for your "build sheet." They'll email you a PDF with your vehicle-specific option descriptions that correspond to your RPO codes.

BTW, your transfer case RPO code is NQH.

Thats a good price on one.

The guy I bought mine from (in China) is asking like $380 now. Seems to be little rhyme or reason to his asking price.

Some of the same retailers are selling the same stuff on Alibaba for low $200's.
