whats up guys!

I've been searching all over for a supercharger for my 99 Tahoe. Any suggestions? Where can I purchase one? How much hp and tq gains can I expect?

Thanks guys!

Procharger unless you can find a Whipple or possibly a Radix. Those are basically unicorns though.

Turbo is really the best option but very labor intensive.

I've been having trouble figuring out a supercharger too. Every time I try to look up one that fits my 99 yukon I end up on a weiland supercharger. And this might be dumb but it says it'll fit my truck but then tells me I need a carb but my truck has SFI so I'm a bit confused and lost on it.

Wynjammer is simplest and cheapest, turbo is best. The problem with either way you boost is fueling. Best option for fueling is either the high-flow spider from Wynjammer (simplest) or convert to marine intake (much more involved but not terrible). I'm not just concluding from my personal experience, but you can not trust an FMU. I melted a piston in my 43K-mile 4.3 due to a failed injector and boost. The stock spider injector setup is not safe for boost!

Whipple superchargers are really good on 5.7l if you can find one.

So thread looks a bit old, but still on page 1.

Forged pistons work WAY better in Nitrous/Turbo/Supercharged applications than Cast versions. Also steel crankshafts help. ;)

Don't forget to lower piston compression ratio for specific application.

I recently got a '97 GMC Yukon, that came with a Whipple Charger, unfortunately incomplete as the wiring tree seems to be missing (it's pretty hard to get any information on those). If however anyone might be selling such a thing, I'd be interested ;).

To answer your question, the Whipple (when it was installed) added a little over 100hp.

My best friend had one, but sold it with a motor. His was for a 4.3L, but I can't imagine that there is much difference between the two. If you want a Vortec, you're going to have to get lucky, and find one used.

This Wynjammer one seems like a viable option. I would like to get one for mine now! :hmm::happy107:
