Yes and no. Firstly, you will not find aftermarket, larger capacity GAS tanks. No one will make them, due to fear of the EPA. Secondly, as far as I know, all the 2500 Suburbans/Yukon XLs had a 26 gallon main tank (which held about 3 gallons in reserve) and an 11 gallon auxiliary tank (which would also hold 2-3 gallons in reserve).Speaking of fuel economy and traveling distance on a tank of fuel, do you guys have any info on the available fuel tank sizes for these trucks? I know that for my 1989 square body ‘burb diesel there were several available tank sizes.

If you go diesel, your FUEL tank options are pretty endless.
