So if I buy 6.0 and put my 5.3L intake and accessories on the 6.0L it will run?

So the timing is exactly the same as the 5.3L?

Ignition and/or injector timing? Either way, those timings are close enough, generally speaking. The ignition timing is still gonna fire at a certain point BTDC, and it's still firing for 8 cylinders 45 degrees apart. The major difference is the pulse width of the injector timing. The PCM will see more airflow from the 6.0's larger displacement and will increase the injector flow to maintain as close to stoich as possible. It will see this as a problem and throw codes because it's programmed to "know" how much air a 5.3 should be ingesting and suddenly it sees this "5.3" is now moving 12% more air. It'll adjust as best as it can and the hardware can physically support this with no problem. But, it will still need at least a base 6.0 tune to optimize everything for the larger displacement, valve events, any difference in compression ratio, etc.

As Chris said in post #8, you'll want the same generation 6.0 as your 5.3 for PCM compatibility reasons. Just check the crankshaft position sensor in the side of the block right above the starter. Black connector is gen III (24X), a gray connector is a gen IV (58X). Double check that your PCM has IACValve control capability. Check your PCM service number against the list at LT1 Swap.com, Brendan is pretty knowledgeable.

FWIW, V8 engines fire every 90* of crankshaft rotation, which would be 45* of camshaft rotation. With no way to check degrees of camshaft rotation with the timing chain cover on you must read the 90* at the crankshaft damper.
