It appears I’m back in business! Got the starter out and jumped it and it was definitely not working properly. Also found the 400amp lug on the power distribution block did not have continuity, replace both this morning and she fired right up!

Glad it’s back in working order. Still curious why it would have died while pulling into a parking spot? Did you also replace the battery?

Spoke to soon I guess, I putted around the neighborhood last night after I got it together and everything seemed fine. Changed the oil this morning for good measure and went for a test drive, at about 2k rpms starts ticking light the 07 Tahoe did when the arm lifters went out. Died on me coming to a stop but started right up and died 2 more times pulling into the driveway. Guess it’s going to the dealer.

Sounds like fuel pump module or fuel pump not keeping pressure. There was issues with the modules dropping out, the ticking maybe the injectors running dry getting loud without hearing it in person but yeah tow it to the dealer. Surprising there was no codes.

Wish I could fine tuning for it, I’d order the dfm delete and a cam like I did on our old Tahoe. Only way I can find to turn it off is installing the whipple kit which would only be a little impractical!

Glad you got it working. Going to answer the original question for the sake of it.

Read here for my story and what I went through: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/thr...hicle-repurchased-new-vehicle-in-shop.142537/

For cost of a new engine, I had to sign and have copies of the invoice but mine say zero. The one billed back to GM was just under $14k, not including my rental car for a month or other expenses the dealership may have had. That's just the engine replacement.

Good luck.

Unfortunately it’s not back in service yet. Ticking that sounds like a lifter that starts at about 2000rpms and stalling when coming to a stop. Pulled the valve covers and everything appears fine at a glance but haven’t had time to pull the rockers are pushrods yet. Engine is still almost impossible for me to spin with my 1/2” torque wrench on the crank bolt.

Turns out a close family friend that’s a retired Gm tech is really good friends with a service advisor and the service manager at the dealer a couple miles from me. They say no doubt that a main bearing has or is failing and will need a new motor at about 12k but from their experience Gm should be willing to cover 40-50%. Not what I wanted but is what it is.
