HaHa! I am definitely a gas engine guy but if anyone out there wants to give me a diesel I will take it bro! lol!!!You couldn't give me a diesel engine. I would go with gas.

Yes, when there is dust, you need to change the oil. What did you have on the 5.3 2024?Well.. i was careful.. however.. below is the first 25 hr drain. Quite a bit in there.. not really happy. I have built a few engines.. you must be clean.. otherwise you are wasting time and effort.
The second drain at 50 hrs.. was what i expected. Decent. I think everybody needs to get a quick flush of the oil at 25 hrs… no motor will last with what i saw in my 2024 5.3.. as it was delivered.. cleaning and tooling must not be where they were.. my last 5.3 was an ‘18 truck and it was really clean right off the bat.

On the other hand second photo is my 2025 slt 3.0… much cleaner at 25 hrs.. a lot less metal in it too.. now i know i should gotten a yukon with a 3.0…. Bummer!
