highest it had gotten was 615 miles range

any one sorry its a little blurry
trying not to get stopped while using da phone

the hybrid only has a 24.5 gallon tank
so if it had a 26 gallon tank the range would be well over 650 miles

Don't we have the same truck? You should easily have a 500+ mile range. I had some fun with a friend who'd just bought an Equinox, and was bragging that he had a 500-mile range. I just said, "Well, so do I."

A little over a year ago had to drive down to Atlanta, so I filled the tank and headed out. I hit Cincinnati in my usual 4 hours flat, and felt pretty good, so I decided to see how far I could go on one tank of gas. The mistake I made was that I was watching the distance to empty calculation to plan my stop, and wasn't paying attention to the miles driven. Even though the computer said I had 77 miles to empty, I ran out of gas. I had driven 586 miles, which worked out to almost exactly 15 mpg.

I don't have the patience to drive on long trips at a sedate pace. I'm using Waze, watching for cops, and whenever someone passes me at a high rate of speed, I'll drop in behind them and use them as a blocker. So for me, 15 mpg on the highway is great, because I'm usually averaging 80-90 MPH.

If I did have the patience, and because of the 39-gallon tank, I could probably go over 600 miles if I could leave the cruise set at 65 or something like that.

Well, you've got 6 gears, ya? I've only got 4. I also dont drive slow, and I also spend most of my time on city streets and highways. I've only taken it on one longer road trip to st louis. Taking it to kentucky later this week for spring break....provided something else doesnt freaking break.

I'd love to add your second tank to my 1500 but there's not enough room up there it seems. What I do not understand is why GM gave the 2500s the little 26 gallon for the main instead of the 31.5? It would be nice to have 43 gallons as did the GMT400s (40 gallons).

Wow, just running around town on Flex-fuel E-? I average 14.5 and I'm not gentle on the skinny pedal... My last highway trip I think I was well into the 18s, big tank though and cruising 70-75, if you drop your avg speed just a hair, keep the rpms down, you'll see a difference.

Your 4 hrs at 80mph is only going to save you ~20 minutes over driving 75, you can make that up during pitstops.

Bill was talking about his 2500 Suburban Eric. Pulling 15 mpg out of it at those speeds is pretty good. The difference in time between 70 and 75 mph over sixty miles distance is about 3 minutes. Not a big deal for a couple hours but on a long haul they add up.

On a long road trip, I care about getting from point A to point B as quickly as possible. If someone blows past me doing 95, well guess what? I'll be cruising at 95 for a while.

And I've NEVER seen my mileage on the DIC at even 16, much less 18. If you have a 2500, well, I'll just say I'm skeptical of your 18 MPG claim.

I didn't know which rig you were referencing(you have a few in the sig), sorry dude, 18ish is a pure highway interstate trip we took. No worries, don't stress enjoy your night

My over all best on Flat Land was 48MPG @ 55-60 MPH... ( that is generally the optimized speed anyways... )




yesterday I went 78 miles with 0.5 gallon but I think "fuel expansion" screwed the results but it 2.2-2.3gallons based on (fuel * expansion)

so we a re looking at about 33MPG(±1) IRL
we all ready switched out to summer fuel so you get 2-3 extra out of it

I do care my self but as long as it;s more then what i got on my old car, i don't really care..

but i'm claustrophobic in cars that is why i had a large car before.. other wise I would have gotten a volt... setting for a HY was a fair compromise between MPG and space
