Close... and that’s in a 09 2500 with 222k. Averaging 14.9 mpg on the DIC.
I stopped the pump at $80; 31 gallons. Might have squeezed a little more in there but $80 hurt bad enough as it was.
A Man after my own heart! I call those drivers my Huckleberries.whenever someone passes me at a high rate of speed, I'll drop in behind them and use them as a blocker
Funny I call them Dingleberry's or cling-ons hehee, it's all good. as a Young kid I drafted an 18 wheeler in my 78 Nova, up the NYS thruway.. I think I averaged 18-20mpg, it was amazing(and stupid)A Man after my own heart! I call those drivers my Huckleberries.
I did it in my silverado like 2 feet away from the 18wheeler
that 4.8 got 24MPG which is pretty good for a large pickup (248" long)
it had a huge tank 34 gallon

I've tucked in close behind a rig with my Yukon and seen over twenty for a few minutes while running 70+
When I used to work on the water, there was this snowbird who had a beautiful red Magnum power boat with Arneson Surface Drives, two or three, don't remember anymore. She would turn up such a froth that we could do a solid 25 knots while in her wake when our normal lightly loaded speed was 22-23 knots.
it takes a few fill up cycles to get it I was at over 700 miles club today...Well, I tried to join the club today and didn't make it! Best I saw was 469 miles on the instant even though at 23 mpg was showing at 40 mph and with more than 26 gallons on board to burn that should have shown 609+ but didn't. Oh, well.

Start filling up with Chevron or Texaco....91/93 octane from chevron/texaco you can probably get it to 550. these engine can take advantage of the fuel even if 87 is the minimum.. esp if you got Flex fuel and/or VVT..
Has a lot more power in the lower band 1-2k rpm there for better fuel savings... less down shifting or searching for gears on the 4 speed transmissions So you can stay in OD longer
even though it's very slight increase it makes a difference..
