UPDATE------------------- The dealer called again today and stated no luck yet on the fuel pump control module. They opened a STAT case with the GM regional rep and they are aware of the issue. I asked if they were 100% sure if that module was the problem since the vehicle ran and drove fine after the event. She stated that the vehicle died when the tech was working on it and they were 100% sure it was the fuel pump control module because it failed the tests they put to it. I hope they are right but I was very happy to hear it died on them. Another plus was they are going to get us into a loaner Tahoe or Silverado pickup sometime this week instead of the Traverse they loaned us. i am so used to the size of the Tahoe that the Traverse seems like I am driving a car :) LOL

Update----------- Went to the dealership again today to swap loaner vehicles. They gave me a brand new (7 miles on it) Silverado Z71 RST to drive until our Tahoe is repaired. The service rep stated the GM regional rep now has engineering involved in tracking down a module so hopefully it won't be to much longer. Driving a brand new pick up sure takes the sting out of not having our Tahoe. It will be a great chance to see what they are like to drive as daily drivers :) LOL

This sucks. I hope they fix it right. It's so hard to schedule appointments and arrange for alternative transportation. It seems I always get stuck in a disgusting loaner with french fries stuck in the seats.
I lucked out. I swapped out the Traverse for a brand new Z71 RST with 7 miles on it. It will be our loaner until the vehicle is repaired :) Kudos to the Serra Auto Group for taking good care of their customer :)

if it comes down to it, I wouldn't be surprised if one gets pulled off the line

How did you get a STAT GM case? My Tahoe gave me carbon monoxide poisoning and I’m still waiting on a rep to get in touch with me 4 days later!!! Do you have a good contact #? Sorry about what’s happening. I’m about done with Tahoe’s.
YIKES!!!!!!! Sorry to hear that. I am just letting my dealer handle stuff. We buy a ton of vehicles from these folks so I am confident they will work hard to get things back to normal.

Well tonight I went to start our vehicle and it cranked for 10 seconds and stopped. I tried it again and it fired up after 7 or so seconds, ran like the timing was off and quit. Onstar found this on the online scan: ----------------------------------------The Engine and Transmission System is not performing as expected. An issue has been detected in the Fuel Management System used to maintain, control and monitor fuel consumption.---------------------- P1029 is the error code.

Needless to say it will be getting towed to a Chevy dealership Monday. I am not a happy camper but thank God it happened in our garage and not out on the road somewhere.
I will update this thread once I find some answers from the dealership.
Thank you for being the world's guinea pig and testing the brand new Tahoe so they can work the kinks out so when I buy one it should be good. Someone has to do it. Lol

Well I'm not so much a coward as I am a smart a$$. I have been there with my 07 Tahoe and that AFM crap was a nightmare. The valves tuck on one side of the head so they replaced just the bent valves and didn't want to touch the other side. Was without truck for 2 weeks. Got it back from dealer and a week later the other valves stuck. This time did it in a week. Got it back, self leveling air suspension went out. Finally sold it and bought an earlier Suburban before all that new tech. Haven't had a problem with it yet. But hey, like you said, you have a brand new Z71 to play with. I'm the salty one lol. Enjoy your new Tahoe when it's fixed. And after you work the kinks out and tell us all that may go wrong I may step up and get one then.

I was/am really worried about the reliability. The only reason why I went forward with the purchase was because the drive-train (seems) was the same. Same ol 5.3L and 10 speed transmission (With Fords help). I guess it's all the other 1000's of parts that can/will go wrong! LOL

So far that has been the case.
