From the looks of things, my 6L80 transmission fluid and filter have probably never been changed, 132k miles. While I have it out I'm thinking about having it rebuilt. I've got a call into my tranny man to see what it will cost and how long it will take.
I was just planning to change its filter and clean up the pan, inside and out. I'll re-used the pan gasket, and paint the pan with silver brake caliper paint. The GM filter# is 24236933($31) and the gasket is # 24224781($13). Or there are kits like: PTC# F-247, ATP# B-240, Wix# 58369, Hastings# TF-209, or Fram# FT1238.
I pounded in the new filter seal with a 1" deep socket w/the extension stuck in it backwards.
