I went ahead and bought the gasket kit, an extra valve cover gasket, an ac delco cap, rotor and plug wires. Hope to have it running good as new.

Was it worth it? Can you tell or notice any difference?

Yeah it was worth it. Saved me a bunch of money My truck used to shake real bad, make the torque converter act up, CEL flash. Runs smoother. I still have a check engine light for a misfire so I just bought all new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Also had a code the EGR and 2 oxygen sensors. My truck was really screwed up apparently.

So I never did drop it off or I hadn't until just now. I hadn't talked to the guy since then so he didn't know about the intake gasket etc. So the work order basically changed to replacing injector spider and its gaskets, change plug wires, plugs, cap and rotor and intake manifold gasket and top off coolant. He's also going to check on a couple of noises when going over bumps. He's charging $300. I think that's fair but I have no idea. Do yall think that's a fair fee???

I figure it's a good 6 hour or so job so $50 an hour isn't bad. He's also going to clean up the TB and look for anything else that might be screwey.

That rate is very good. I hope his quality is too. Spray the maf down as well. please use the following parts for best results.

Delphi FJ10566 Fuel Injector SCPI to MFI Conversion Assembly-comes with regulator already on and o-rings and bracket.

Fel-Pro MS98000T Manifold Gasket Set- included is manifold gaskets, plenum and a few others. only has one valve cover gasket so grab another Fel-Pro VS50293R.

Fel-Pro ES72224 Engine Intake Manifold Bolt Set. with sealant already put on. clean the head holes well.

ACDelco 131-151 GM Original Equipment Engine Coolant Thermostat- fill the system with Prestone Dexcool 70% coolant and the other 30% distilled water. preferably arrowhead water. fill system to top of thermo housing then drop an bolt down thermo and cove. Hose it then fill the rest of way while squeezing the upper hose till it is full. engine heat cycling will bleed the rest. and top off reservoir as needed.

If he does it right you will have a happy truck.

Yup. Got all those part numbers from you in another thread. All felpro and AC delco. The acdelco spider was cheaper than the Delphi so I got that one instead.

good i notice amazon prices on the two different ones are up and down by quite a bit. must not be able to keep up with the Delphi stock. the number of reviews on Delphi certainly went way up.
