It is a factory looking posi-trac. It looks pristine inside there. What do you mean "what diff it is"? It is the 9.5 14 bolt is it not? Are you asking about gears for the 3.08 to fit that diff?

I just looked at Randy's Ring and Pinion and the highest gear ratio they offer for that diff is a 3.42. I also looked thru Google and the consensus is that the 3/4 ton 9.5 diff with the 14 bolt was made for loads and towing so they came with 3.42 gears and I did not see any place offering 3.08 gears for it. There may be someone out there though.

I did a bunch of research as well and came up with the same thing. 3.42 is the highest you can get. No biggy they are a good medium gear.

You can request a different locker for your set up or just use what is in there. Found this: The G80 is a specialized differential designed by Eaton to work as a low-speed traction aid, offering full lockup during its operation.

Heck no with a 5.61-1 first gear even 3.42s aren't high enough. Would have liked 3.08s but the 9.5 doesn't have that option.

Anyone know what diff that is? Clutch style posi?

haha yea it wouldnt do you much good.... i have a 4l80 in mine now 2.48 1st with the 4.10s match up good with it but dont like the cruising rpm

If you do a locker swap I would stick with a Tru-Trac.

Looking at how clean this is I don't think I'm gonna touch the inside. Probably going to clean it up chassis saver the whole thing and go from there. Keeping all the internals and not messing with powder coating will give me money to put on a girdle and spohn links.

Wasn't planning on swapping this for awhile but it might happen sooner than later. As long as the race truck behaves that is.

i've beat the "g80" locker in mine pretty good, dont hear about nearly as many failures on the 9.5sf.
the only thing i noticed with mine is it will sometimes engage and not let back off, but thats usually when im doing some tuning or something i'll blast it 0-100 and then immediately make a u-turn i'll noticed the tire want to skip like theyre locked together.
