New belt, new idle pulley, new tensioner, new water pump, new alternator, cleaned pullies and still screeches when i rev up, at idle it doesnt. Im stumped, I need help. Im low on cash and don't want to spend anymore. Ac compressor is a possibility but i power it on and no change in noise as if if it was the problem. I bought a month ago and didnt do this until a few days ago but did it before i bought all the parts above, except for the belt. Please help guys.

Drop some water on the belt and see if the noise goes away ... might help you troubleshoot it.

Please don't laugh. My neighbor is an old cat. When my wife's Jimmy was screeching like that at revs but not at idle, he took a bar of soap and held it to the belt while it was running at idle. The belt obviously ate away at the bar of soap leaving white streaks all over it. After 1/4 of the bar of soap was gone he stopped. Then he had me rev the engine. The noise was gone. Stayed away for about a week until the soap wore off. He said it needed a new belt. I replaced the belt and that solved the problem.

I know you mentioned a new belt already, but try the soap trick and see if the noise stops. If it does, then the belt may be defective and need to be replaced.

Disclaimer: I know nothing about mechanics, this is just was my neighbor did for me. Stop laughing!

It's not funny!! The soap acts as a lube, the water will do the same thing till it dries up. If the noise goes away with either the soap or the water he has a belt issue. Too tight maybe?? Could be slipping on one of the pulleys ...

unknown at this time.
if it is **** it all the time then I would say something is wrong with that new belt(maybe to long causing the tensioner to become lax)or tensioner. If you let the tensioner snap back on it own it will almost immediately get damaged.

Verfy the application and exchanged them if needed for possible bad parts.

Maybe you cleaing solution for pulleys affected the rubber belt perhaps glazing it really bad.

Screeching

Its a new belt and did the soap thing and made no difference, it only quiets down when i spray it with conditioner on the groove side. Anyone have a pic of the proper position the of the tensioner on a 95? tensioner looks a little low to me but thats the proper belt for that application for an 105 amp alt any other belt is longer.

There is a sticker under the hood that should show the proper routing ... do you have AC??

sounds like belt is loose, causing slipping, thats why you only hear it at higher rpms and not idle. even though its a new belt it could be bad or new tensioner could be bad as well.

I dont think it is the tensioner it was making that noise with the old tensioner. I notice the belt rides back and forward a bit but noise doesnt seem to be coming from there. I spray conditioner on the grooves and it quiets down. Im stomped guys.:emotions122::shocked:
