read thoroughly. rpm is not bad but don't know exact spec on the tbi right now. vortecs run a little lower in the mid66's. when going into gear the iac compensates to bring it back up from the tranny load.

Thanks sunlit, just ordered the parts, cheap enough to just replace. I wonder if the iac or map sensor were the cause of stalling when braking hard, hmm

if the iac is jamming then it can effect the engine running when conditions requirements. do you read the pdf to see the reset procedure first?

So replaced the IAC & map sensor. The map sensor check engine Code is gone, IAC still remains. From what I understand, This would indicate throttle body leaking. My mechanic had mentioned to me that there was fuel leaking in tbi & recommended I do a rebuild. So this should be the main cause of the problems. I ordered the tbi gasket kit & also ordered the fuel pressure regulator kit. This is a good idea to have replaced at same time yes?
I'm guessing that with this rebuild my mpg should go up a good amount, being there is vacuum loss & fuel loss?
