Hello, I am going to be doing the heater core on my 95 Tahoe got all the parts I need and found a video on You Tube that shows how you go about doing it remove the hoses then take the bottom of the box off and take out the bracket that holds it in and pop the new one in, my question is how many screws should you be removing to get the bottom of the box off? it looks like 2? cause you got these black ones (which are the ones I think comes off) then these gold colored ones but those look like they attach the whole box to the bottom of the dash or whatever it is attached too, the video just shows them removing one towards the front facing the seat and one towards the back on the side the pass side door is on, just wanna make sure how many come off before I go and do this, thanks for the help

I did a sort of write up doing it the way you are wanting to. It take about 1.5hrs total ( I am not the best at auto mechanics) I pulled air box out and just FYI be rest to replace the rubber hoses that come from the core out to engine bay. They are usually corroded and old brittle
Rubber.

I have a slight problem, I got it all apart put the core and new hoses in started it up and drove it no leaks, my problem is I can not get the bottom of the box back on, its not broken or anything felt around the edge where it goes there is nothing blocking it, I can't get the side that is on the side of the pass side door to go up other side goes up no problem, maybe there is some kind of trick to putting the bottom of the box back on? thanks for the help

Hmm it might have a ridge area that it kind of uses to snap on. When I did mine I mangled my box to ****. I ended up using black 100mph tape to seal it up temporarily.

your lucky you have the old style tahoe. If it was a newer one you would be asking how do I get this dash back together.

I felt all the way around where it mounts up to and there is nothing in the way and where it mounts up to doesn't appear to be damaged, gonna take a look again tomorrow and see
