ya i just looked in the GM parts Catalog and the only options for that body style was the GMC logo with a 1500, the Chevy logo with a 1500, and the Yukon GT

Here's a couple pictures of one I came across here in town in the mall parking lot. Poor thing hasn't been taken care of in a long time judging from the coat of grime and bird crap on it. Some people are just too damn lazy to appreciate what could be a really cool looking vehicle.

OOOLD topic to bring up here.. But I'm doing some looking around for more info about the SS trims.

I have an SS marked one. Badge looks just like the one the OP showed. My body lacks the trim, but I have a feeling it was stripped during that period in the late 90s when people were filling in trim holes and stuff.

Interior is beige, no airbag, no A/C. 4WD and has the Vortec.

I just picked the truck up, so I'll post up some pics if ya'll are interested.

Still rebuilding the entire cooling system. I came to pick it up and apparently the coolant leak the previous owner was dealing with (By adding water) froze the whole thing solid.

I forgot the VIN number at his house - but I have a feeling this may be some canadian thing. I'll have more shortly.

Update on my SS :

Still no pictures. It's been so damned cold that I've just been fighting off the pain in my fingers.

But a little bit more now that I'm taking some time off, as well as some thawing out.

So the original owner is a friend of mine. He bought it from a friend of his. Using this as his commuter car, he left work and found himself overheating. Pops the hood, and sees the radiator blasting water out of the bottom. This is where it all begins:

My friend knows that radiator stop-leak ruins a car. But he has to get home, and decides to take a chance. The pellets go in and the leak slows down. Having only water on him, he fills it all up and makes it home.
Loses track of time, and the water is sitting in the system instead of coolant / anti-freeze. I ask to buy truck from him (Very good price, of course) and go to pick up the goods.

Radiator is frozen, water pump is frozen. Heater core and valves are gunked up with the radiator stop-leak BS that we all know and love. So it's time for me to get to work;

Temperature outdoors is 0F. I have a propane heater that I put under the truck for awhile during the radiator removal and heater core removal. I get it all back together, and water is now flowing pretty freely. I have to hook everything up to check for block cracks or whatever - but what's done is done. I move forward:

Change oil, trans fluid, and coolant. All things are good to go - Truck starts and runs very well. I bleed out the systems and prepare to start taking it around the block. Outdoor temps are -6F with wind.

Truck runs for 10 minutes, and then shuts down. Won't start. Check oil - And the entire dipstick tube is full of chocolate milk. Shut'er down.

Takes me about another 4 hours to inspect for freeze plugs or "guess' where there may be a crack. But I have to get it running again before just guessing at shit. I could guess my way into a psych ward if I don't watch it.

Intake gasket and water pump now replaced. Returned to work. Will let everyone know next week sometime how it's working out.

But I do have 2 pics of the truck taken with shaking hands and a cellphone:

Sounds like the ole intake gaskets to me. And not ragging on it but that looks like a regular tahoe that someone took the trim off and them added a Tahoe Sport grille to after they busted the original. The only question is the roof rack, or lack thereof. Does it have provisions for mounting? Im pretty sure a rack delete was an option as well. RPO codes in the glove compartment will help. Search for it and there is a page that decodes them.

Once again these are aftermarket emblems, they were in every truck magazine at the time. Good luck with your Tahoe.
