Well thought i fixed all the coolant leaks on my tahoe. Its got new radiator new upper hose and now its dripping off my front axle by the ring and pinon housing. Im having issues finding it. Its center maybe a lil towards drivers side.

97 Tahoe 4x4, 5.7L with over 200,00 miles on it, coolant leak also, no friggen idea where it is, strength in numbers bro, strength in numbers

I use an old trick where i drive the car around to get it warmed up to normal operating temp, then I park the vehicle on a flat surface, closed garage works best, so there is no wind or external moisture, over a large piece of cardboard, and then I go to get a beer or two and I come back to check if there are any coolant marks on the cardboard, then I crawl under her and look up, well the problem is I aint got any coolant stains on the cardboard but the coolant is disappearing, what the heck right?

I may be thinking of adding the coolant die to see if I can spot it with a black light, but if she's leaking through the intake manifold that aint gonna do me any good anyways

thoughts, ideas?

Check the heater hose fitting, hah. Thats were mine is leaking from.
I have a thread about the same thing "random coolant loss". First was my lower intake manifold gasket, now, its my heater hose fitting.

I would say the best way to find it is either do aleak down test or let it sit for a couple of days.. That way you can find the dry trail of coolant. Mine was dripping off of the bellhousing and it was actually coming from the front of the motor.

Best way/only way to tell for sure is to go to your local VIP or ADAP or Orielly's and rent a Radiator pressure tester.
All you do is leave a deposit and they give you your $$ back when you return the tool.
That way you can work on/crawl under/get inside the engine bay without worry about getting burned.
Pump it up and you'll see where you're leaking coolant from.

BTW, my bet is weep hole on water pump.

all sound advice, these things love to leak!

If you don't find the leak on the quick disconnect heater hose (they rust and fail regularly - its on top of the manifold next to the thermostat), then rent that pressure tester and go to town as was mentioned.

Have you ever replaced the manifold gasket (they fail on most OBS)?

There's no sign of any coolant leaking from anything on the intake or thermo housing. Its got new rradiator and upper hose and its coming from the drivers side dripping off the motor mount onto the axle on to the ground. Im going to pressure test it and figure out where its coming from

This sounds like what is happening to me. It just started a couple days ago. I park and when I come back, I have a 2x2 ish spot of dried fluid. I think it's coolant. It doesn't smell overly sweet or anything, and it's pretty clear like water. I see it leaking under the car, though. It's like a faucet left on. I just can't find out where it's coming from.
