I've got a random misfire and a multiple random misfire and only a solid light when its been idling for a while. You can hear it in the beginning of this vid.

update: Needed new fuel pump.. or so my mechanic says

dealer says a blinking check engine light means that is when the engine is misfireing, yes a bent push rod can cause this I agree but wouldnt i hear it knocking?

depends how bad it was bent. I would at the very least do a compression check and a cylinder balance test on all cylinders. When I missed a shift and over -revved my Ls1 only 1 rod looked like a hockey stick, but I had three others that were very obviously not straight. If its a higher mileage engine then you may also want to look at some new valve springs.

its got brand new heads and valves plus springs and for giggles i did pull off valve covers tonight and check the rods they all seem fine one weird thing on compression test cyl 2-8 read 180 but cyl 1 is 190?
